  • Bar code-right hand corner because of advert on the back
  • Issue number
  • Top banner-names or topics
  • Original
  • More than one picture
  • Title-usually one word-positioned top left of the cover and full page width-unique font-largest text on the cover
  • Consistent colour scheme
  • One main image -band or singer-medium close up-conveys an attitude-direct address
  • Main coverline anchors the meaning of the main image it is the largest on the page
