Evaluation

I have been asked to create a school magazine following the codes and conventions of a conventional magazine. I believe that I have followed them well this is because the title is positioned it the top left and consists of a unique font, I have used a mid shot for my main central image, I have a bar code, I have used the font sans serif, I have included a puff and website and issue date. My front cover consists of the main colour orange with a few details in yellow I have kept the range of colours as minimum as possible. I do consider the positioning of it all and could possibly have added more images if positioned better on the page.
My contents page also follows the codes and conventions by having three columns, headings, consistent colour scheme, images and the magazine title. However instead of using Photoshop as I did for the front cover I used the software QuarkXPress this pushed my skills as I had to get use to the software in order to produce a product which I was satisfied about.
I used media technologies such as Photoshop and QuarkXPress to create my media product. I have used Photoshop many times however QuarkXPress was a new software for me.
One of my main strengths during the creation of this school magazine was that a new how to use Photoshop very well therefore it didn’t take long for me to achieve the look I wanted. As I stated before QuarkXPress is a new software therefore was completely new to me this meant that it took a little longer and took a while to get used to. However the comparison of how fast I can use Photoshop therefore aloud more time on my contents page making it easier to find my way around the new software.
I am happy with my school magazine and i feel more confident about using new software.
